THE START OF 2009 TURKEY SEASON

On May 4th we all put on our camo, took out all the turkey calls and polished the shot gun. I had the pleasure of having two Pro Staff hunters from Mountain Hollow Game Calls - Pro Staff Matt Richards and Pro Staff Jared Ashley. Well, on Monday the day started out with birds all around us, but it got very quiet; however, when you have great callers it's hard for toms to stay away. Matt shot a nice bird 19 1/2 lbs - 9 1/2 inch beard. On day two, Jared called in what I feel is the biggest bird in the woods around camp. He called it in, but the big-old bird would not cross the field. He just stayed about 60 to 70 yards out in the field just showing off. On day three, it was raining, so some birds were talking, but kept their distance. Unfortunatelyy, the guys had to leave after such a short stay as they needed to get back for a show. We had a great three days together and I hope they come back soon. If you need any kind of hunting calls I strongly encourage you to look them up. I know you will like what you see!
